Healthy Refreshing Drinks
Having a drink after a long day’s work doesn’t have to take a toll on your health.
And don’t get me wrong, I am the kind of person who enjoys an occasional glass of wine, but in an alcohol dominated society exploring alternative drink options can bring a refreshing twist to your dinner party while sparing you from awful hangovers.
So if you are looking for some healthy, sexy drink inspirations, I would like to share with you some of my personal favourites.
1.Matcha Mint Cooler
This Matcha Mint Cooler is super refreshing and will give you that nice zingy energy kick which Matcha provides.
Matcha is a Japanese green tea powder made from finely powdered dried tea leaves. It is rich in Catechins which is a type of plant compound that acts as natural antioxidants. Matcha powder is more nutrient dense than regular green tea since the powder which is added to water contains the whole ground up tea leaf rather than just being steeped in water like regular green tea.
Instructions:
Place the Matcha powder in a small bowl and then gradually whisk with the hot water, then set aside and let it cool down to room temperature.
Then in a pitcher or mason jar add in the fresh mint leaves and mash them with a wooden spoon until they are well bruised.
Squeeze the lime into the pitcher, then add the cooled down matcha mix and coconut water.
Give it a good shake, pour it over some ice and garnish it with some additional mint leaves if you like.
2. Refreshing Rose Seltzer
Instructions:
Simply add the tonic water, rose water, hibiscus syrup and agave syrup to a pitcher or mason jar and shake well.
Then pour over ice and garnish with rose petals.
3. Energising Ginger-Orange Ice Tea
This delicious energising Ginger-Orange Ice tea is the perfect drink for a hot summer afternoon.
Ginger is super energising and contains Ginger which has powerful medicinal properties such as having anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Instructions:
First brew your cup of black tea and let it cool down.
Then add the tea, orange juice, lime juice and crushed ginger to a pitcher or mason jar and shake well.
Now pour over ice and garnish with an orange slice.
2. Ocean Blue Spirulina-Mint Cooler
This Ocean Blue Spirulina cooler is exactly the kind of rejuvenating drink you need this summer.
Spirulina is a a type of blue-green algae that grows both in fresh and salt water.
This tiny algae is packed with B vitamins, protein and Iron as well as having decent amounts of magnesium, potassium and manganese. Additionally it is a great source of the antioxidant phycocyanin which is what gives it, it’s blue green colour.
Instructions:
Add the tonic water, spirulina powder and agave syrup into a pitcher or mason jar and shake well.
Then squeeze in the lime juice and add in the crushed mint.
Give it another little shake and pour over ice.
I hope you feel inspired by these healthy delicious summery drinks and will enjoy one of these soon. I’ve had lots of fun coming up with these and they really are so simple to make and add that little bit of extra celebratory feeling to your day.
Happy refreshing moments xx
