Avocados- Superfood for glowing, beautiful skin

Avocados not only have huge health benefits when eaten, but this delicious green fruit ( Yes Avocado is a fruit) does wonders in giving you soft, glowing skin. The powerhouse of healthy fats, vitamins and antioxidants offers incredible benefits both inside and out.

Younger and clearer looking skin due to Antioxidants

Antioxidants are essential for optimum health and gorgeous skin. Avocados contain Vitamin C and Vitamin E, as well as Lutein, all of which are great for your skin.

Vitamin C aids with fighting inflammation and inflammatory conditions of the skin such as acne. Vitamin C also plays an essential role in preventing the breakdown of collagen and elastin. Collagen and Elastin are two structural proteins that keep the skin plump and firm. Unfortunately these two proteins naturally decrease while we age which is why it is so essential to help our body maintain these as much as possible.

Vitamin E is essential for tissue repair and protection against free radicals within the environment as well as potentially preventing UV damage to the skin.

Lutein Aids in keeping the skin hydrated and prevents the breakdown of important skin lipids as well as increasing the water content of your skin. Hydration is one of the most important aspects of maintaining healthy, youthful skin.

Good Fats are essential for plumping and hydrating the skin

Back in the 90s there wrongfully used to be this idea that all fat is bad and that we should avoid fat at all costs. We now know that this is far from the truth. Fat can actually improve your heart health, is essential for brain function and very important for maintaining healthy youthful looking skin. Avocados contain both monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Polyunsaturated fatty acids help reducing the inflammation in the skin due to powerful anti-inflammatory properties as well as protecting against environmental damage such as the UV rays of the sun.

Monounsaturated fatty acids aid in moisturizig the skin leaving it glowing, youthful and soft to touch.

B Vitamins- Help with preventing Skin Conditions and Keep Your Skin Healthy and glowing from the inside out

Avocados are rich in Biotin, an essential B vitamin that contributes to healthy skin, strong nails and beautiful shiny hair. A deficiency of biotin can lead to dry skin, rashes , dry fragile hair and brittle nails.

Avocados are also are a great source of Vitamin K, fibre, pantothenic acid, copper, potassium and folate all of which are essential for maintaining overall good health.

Eating Avocados on a regular basis helps to keep your skin moisturized, clear, glowing and youthful while protecting it against sun damage.

So get it on and dig on on some Guacamole or some delicious Avo-Toast!
