5 Tips on boosting your confidence and instantly feeling better in your own skin
We all have days when things just don’t quite feel right, we don’t feel great about ourselves and are in need of giving our confidence and wellbeing a bit of a boost.
If you are having one of those days on which you feel tired, dull, demotivated, self-conscious and are generally in a crappy mood don’t dwell and stay in that low vibe because there is plenty of things you can do to get yourself out of a rut.
It’s incredible how with just a few little tricks and a bit of mindset change you really can feel much better about yourself and feel more confident in your own skin in no time. Believe me I know what I am taking about because I definitely experience soul crushing moments of self-doubt and low self esteem.
So here are a few little tips and tricks which can get you feeling great and confident about yourself instantly.
Write a list of compliments
Get out a piece of paper and write down at least 5 positive aspects / things you like about yourself. This can be physical traits or personality traits- just write down whatever comes to mind. Then you will take your list and read it out aloud to yourself 5 times. Then get out another piece of paper and write down at least 5 things you are good at and then also read out loud these self-compliments to yourself. Trust me you will instantly feel better by reminding yourself of your strengths and positive traits. We often are so hard on ourselves that we easily forget what we have to offer.
Take a long shower or a bath
This sounds awfully simple but taking a nice hot shower or a bath often works wonders. The water relaxes us, rids us of tension and stress as well as leaving us feeling clean and refreshed.
Water truly has a soothing effect on the psyche. Sometimes if I am having a difficult day I visualise that the water is rinsing away all stress and negativity as I shower and stay in the shower a bit longer than usual to truly “cleanse myself” from all the bullshit.
Create a beautiful space
This one works wonders for me every time. Our environment truly effects our mental state and vice versa so if you are sitting in your room/living room/ house and everything around you is a mess or your surroundings are simply uncozy or uninviting it’s hard to feel good especially if you are already feeling like crap. So tidy up your surroundings and put in a bit of an extra effort- for example light some candles, put on some nice music, light some incense or put on an essential oil diffuser ( if your into that kinda thing) pretty much create a space that you feel good in and trust me you will feel better.
Cook yourself a delicious meal
I am a firm believer that some delicious food can often make all the difference. Also food very much affects our mood and mental state hence if for example you haven’t eaten much all day that may very well contribute to you not feeling your best. Also cooking good nutritious food for yourself is an act of self care and love for your body which is an essential part of wellbeing. Dress up
This may sound simplistic, but putting on some clothes you really feel good in and like yourself in-whether that’s some blue jeans and T-shirt, some sexy lingerie, or your most fabulous dress-can truly make you feel better instantly. Personally on days when I feel low self-esteem I also put in zero effort into my outfit choices which is a huge mistake! Sometimes when you’re feeling low it’s even more important to put on something beautiful and put on a bit of red lipstick.
I hope these little tricks and tips have been helpful. I am certain that you too will very soon feel more confident in your own skin, and overall feel better about yourself. Because you are amazing! And there is absolutely zero reason to not feel great about yourself, if you can’t see it now you will very soon.
